Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ quarterback Baker Mayfield and his wife Emily Mayfield are proud to announce their second annual BE the Ball event on August 25, 2024 to benefit early childhood literacy programs.
The Baker & Emily Mayfield Foundation is an effort born from the Mayfield’s deep gratitude and desire to pay it forward, and focuses on pillars of youth success, resilience, and strength. The organization provides programs, scholarships, and philanthropic opportunities to help others tackle life's challenges in order to BE the best version of themselves. Supporting early learning and school readiness helps ensure that children from under-resourced communities have the tools to be successful in school and in life.
The Foundation launched with the first-annual “BE the ball” event in August of 2023, raising funds that ultimately helped families across Tampa Bay access high-quality early learning experiences in support of their initiative “BE successful”. The second annual event will take place on Sunday, August 25th, 2024 from 3:00-7:00 p.m, and funds raised will ultimately benefit the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County (ELCHC). Everyone is invited, from Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans to University of Oklahoma alumni to come play in the Topgolf tournament and help support children and families in the Tampa Bay area.
Dr. Fred Hicks, Chief Executive Officer of ELCHC shared, “I am deeply grateful for the transformative support from the Baker & Emily Mayfield Foundation, whose dedication to early childhood education is creating lasting impacts and brighter futures for our youngest learners.”
Following an afternoon at the Topgolf range, players can enjoy hosted cocktails and dinner with Baker & Emily Mayfield and other Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the rooftop deck.
Emily Mayfield added, “We’re hoping this year’s event can have an even greater impact in our community, providing high-quality early childhood education for families that need assistance. We have been blessed with this platform, and we want to use it to make a difference. We are
passionate about being on the ground, and using our platform to address the challenges we can, with not only money but mentorship—to have impact from beginning to end.” The tournament will take place on Sunday, August 25th, at Topgolf in Tampa, Florida from 3:00-5:00 p.m., followed by an exciting in-venue post-event dinner on the rooftop deck from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
